WATCH: Lady Gaga confirms fifth album will be released this year
The news was revealed in a backstage interview at the Golden Globes.
A backstage interview from the Golden Globes has been released showing Lady Gaga confirming she will be releasing new music this year.
The singer was asked by a reporter "are you going to be putting out any new music this year?" to which she replied, "you know, I am putting out an album this year. I won't tell you when, but it is coming out this year."
The same reporter also asked her if the album will reflect her outer appearance to which she replied, "that's a difficult thing to say, as I don't know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I'm still creating all of those things".
Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for her part in American Horror Story: Hotel where she played the part of The Countess, a 115-year-old 'vampire'.
In the same interview she went on to say that at times when she was playing The Countess she would be reminded of her own life, "I'm always — at times — playing a character, and I become them fully. And living inside of her was liberating".
The Countess was Lady Gaga's first main acting role despite many years in the music industry.
