12 songs that turn 25 in 2025
There were so many great songs out in 2000
As we start 2025 we've decided to take a look back at some of the biggest hits released way back in 2000. Despite being released a massive 25 years ago, we still had some huge hits from artists who are popular today such as Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue. Coldplay were still in their early days with 'Yellow', and Anastacia released her debut hit 'I'm Outta Love'.
Other artists we saw hits from included the Sugababes, who returned with their original line-up a few years ago, and LeAnn Rimes with her iconic 'Can't Fight The Moonlight', which featured on the Coyote Ugly film.
And, Sweet Female Attitude, despite being a one-hit wonder with their song 'Flowers', have more recently had their song sampled by Nathan Dawe which propelled it into the charts again.
Take a look through songs which were released 25 years ago:
Robbie Williams - 'Rock DJ'
Robbie Williams released his very successful song 'Rock DJ' back in 2000. The song was featured on the singer's third studio album 'Sing When You're Winning' released in the same year and went to Number 1 in the UK.
The music video features Robbie standing in the middle of the dancefloor as a group of women roller-skate around him.
Trying to impress the female DJ, as the video progresses, Robbie gradually takes off his clothes. In the full version of the video, which is often cut, he starts to remove his skin and muscles and is left as a skeleton, after the DJ is left unimpressed.
