Sigala reveals how Hits Radio Live helped him release a Top 10 hit

Excitement is hotting up as Hits Radio Live is due to take place next month in both Birmingham and Manchester. With the line-ups now announced, we're super excited that Sigala |newtab) will be joining us at Hits Radio Live Birmingham, along with Olly Alexander, Leigh-Anne Pinnock |newtab), Joel Corry |newtab), Ella Henderson |newtab), Tom Walker |newtab) and Sugababes.

Sigala, who is known for his hits 'Easy Love', 'Sweet Lovin'', 'Came Here for Love', has performed at Hits Radio Live before and revealed how being at one of our events helped him release his hit with James Arthur, 'Lasting Lover'.
The song, which was written by none other than Lewis Capaldi, was released in 2020 by Sigala and James, and became a Top 10 hit for the pair, however, it was touch and go as to whether the song would be released, until Sigala bumped into Lewis backstage at Hits Radio Live.
Sigala explained: "There was something great that came out of one of the Hits Radio Lives in the past. I met Lewis Capaldi at one ages ago, and I'd been sent this song that he had written called ‘Lasting Lover’.
"I saw him in the hallway and ran up to him and I was like ‘Bro, I've got this song called ‘Lasting Lover’, that apparently you've written?’ and I couldn't get approval on using it."
He continued: "I really wanted to put it out, so I went up to him and was like, ‘Can I use this song? I love it.’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, man, I'm not using it.’
"And then we got in touch from a Hits Radio Live backstage area and it ended up being my single with James Arthur that came out, and had the MGMT sample in it. And yeah, that all happened from Hits Radio Live backstage!"
