Olivia Rodrigo sends fans wild with a cryptic countdown on her website
Fans think her second album will be out soon
Olivia Rodrigo shot to fame two years ago with the release of her debut album 'Sour' and hits like 'Drivers License', 'Deja Vu' and 'Good 4 U', however in recent months she's been quite quiet, until now...
The singer, who won her first BRIT Award last year, took to Instagram recently to share a seemingly innocent mirror selfie, however on closer inspection, it looks like it could be a nod to a release date for her second album, dubbed 'OR2'.
In the background of the pic behind Olivia, there is a calendar with a date highlighted with a heart. Taking a closer look, the highlighted date is the 30th June, which just happens to be a Friday, the day most artists release music.
Not only that, but Olivia's website has now been changed to feature a countdown, which just happens to count down to the same date. 👀
Since noticing the countdown fans have been taking to Twitter to share their excitement, one wrote: 'Woohoo! Can't wait to see what surprises the new countdown brings 🎉', with another saying: 'Feeling the excitement building up as the countdown changes! Ready to see what's in store for us 🔥🙌'.
Another wrote: 'She's coming omgg'. (sic)
Adding to the conspiracy theories around a release date for her second album, a fan account has also shared details of the Spotify canvas that appears when her song 'Drivers License' plays.
Previously the expiry date was the 8th January 2021, the date the song was released, it has now been changed to 30th June!
Olivia has previously updated fans on her second album, telling Billboard last year interview: "I have a title for my next album and a few songs. It’s really exciting to think about the next world that’s coming up for me.
"I just love writing songs. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. (I want to) just sort of explore and have fun right now," Olivia explained.
