Louis Tomlinson is midway through the North American leg of his 'Faith In The Future' world tour, and was due to perform in an outdoor amphitheatre called Red Rocks, near Morrison, Colorado, this week.

However, on Wednesday (21st June), things didn't go to plan when there was a freak storm, and several people were injured by golf-sized hail stones, which rained down on the fans waiting to see Louis on stage.

Following this extreme weather, Louis took to Twitter on the night to tell his fans: 'Devastated about the show tonight, hope everyone’s ok, I’ll be back! Even though we didn’t play the show I felt all of your passion! Sending you all love!'

He later shared a heartfelt statement, telling his fans: 'Sending all my love out to everyone that was affected by the extreme weather at Red Rocks last night. I hope everyone has made it home safely and anyone injured is on the mend, it was devastating to see so many of you affected.

'I want to thank the speed and care of my touring personnel and the first responders who worked tirelessly last night to help care for everyone affected in what was such extreme circumstances.'

He continued: 'We're working hard to find a rescheduled date for the show so please hang onto your tickets until we have more info. Get well soon, and I'll be back at Red Rocks soon!'

As to be expected the gig was cancelled, and a tweet from the local fire brigade suggests that between 80 and 90 fans were injured, with seven being taken to hospital to be treated for injuries including 'cuts and broken bones'.

Several fans have also taken to social media to share photos of their injuries. Although there was rain forecast, it's understood there was no prediction of hail, and rain would not normally postpone a gig at Red Rocks.

Wishing all the fans affected a speedy recovery! ❤️
