Finally after teasing his new music for some time Avicii has dropped his brand new EP, consisting of five new tracks and a bonus remix.

The EP is called ‘AVĪCI’ and is the DJ's first new music since 2015. After announcing his retirement from touring last year the 27-year-old has been having a break travelling the world and taking some much needed time out, however when he said he would 'never let go of music' he meant it.

Avicii announced the release of his EP on social media quoting the open letter he penned last year to his fans. '"I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it." I will never stop making music. My new EP is out NOW! ❤️🎵👊'

‘AVĪCI’ features collaborations with Rita Ora, AlunaGeorge, Billy Raffoul, Vargas & Lagola and Sandro Cavazza. To coincide with the release of his music he has also uploaded the audio to his YouTube channel.

Talking about his new EP Avicii said, "I’m really excited to be back with music once again, it has been a long time since I released anything and a long time since I was this excited over new music!"

He continued, "My focus on this first EP of the album was to get a mix of new and old songs, some that fans have been asking about/waiting for, mixed with brand new songs that they haven't heard before!"

The first track on the EP features Vargas & Lagola in a song that fuses together Avicii's well-known sound with some more country influences. Vargas & Lagola are former GRAMMY winners who have previously worked with the likes of Katy Perry and former Swedish House Mafia DJs Axwell /\ Ingrosso.

Meanwhile another song included on this EP is 'Lonely Together' featuring British singer Rita Ora. 'Lonely Together' is a pop anthem in the making which will quickly have you singing along, check it out below.

Since 2011 Avicii has had a host of top 10 hits including 'Levels', 'Wake Me Up' and Hey Brother'. He was a popular DJ on the festival circuit, but decided to retire from touring after suffering from a number of health problems. In 2014 he had his gall bladder and appendix and then experienced anxiety issues relating to his live performances.

Despite his problems Avicii always said he would continue to make music.
