The last ten years have been incredibly successful for pop star Liam Payne, after finding fame on The X Factor and becoming 1/5 of one of the biggest boy bands on the planet, One Direction, Liam went on to achieve amazing solo success with hits such as 'Strip That Down' and 'For You'.

But Liam, who is due to perform at Hits Radio Live on Saturday 14th July, has been reflecting about THAT audition on The X Factor when he was just 14-years-old. Taking to Twitter, Liam revealed he had a hole in his shoes and the jeans he was wearing were borrowed from one of his mates. He wrote, 'Just thoughts 💭.... when I auditioned for X factor 10 years ago I had a hole in my George Asda shoes, borrowed Armandi jeans from a friend just a 14 year old boy with big dreams ... crazy what ten years can do... thank you 🙏🏼'. sic

Fans of the singer were quick to praise him for his achievements, with many expressing how 'proud' they are of Liam.

One fan wrote, 'You deserve everything you have now Liam 💓', with another adding, 'You can’t believe how proud I am. I love you so so much!'.

After auditioning for The X Factor as a solo artist, Liam was put into One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik. Despite finishing in third place, One Direction went on to achieve massive success, becoming one of the biggest boy bands across the globe.

When the band started their hiatus in January 2016, Liam went on to pursue his dream of a solo career and has since released a number of amazing hits.

You can see Liam perform some of his biggest hits such as 'Get Low', 'Bedroom Floor' and his new single 'Familiar' at Hits Radio Live on Saturday 14th July. Liam will be joining other amazing acts such as Take That, Rita Ora, George Ezra, Years & Years, Clean Bandit, Sigala and Jax Jones at the Manchester Arena.
