Lewis Capaldi joined Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East to talk about his new single 'Forget Me', which he previewed to fans just two weeks ago, and how Sir Elton John gave him advice on his comeback single.

Speaking to Fleur East, James and Matt, Lewis revealed that he has been using an alias called Anita Jobby! Speculation first started after a TikTok video full of expletives went viral, so we just had to know more!

Is Lewis Capaldi also known as Anita Jobby?

Fleur asked the 'Forget Me' singer: "There's apparently this alias you go by, 'Anita Jobby'... Is that you? Are you Anita Jobby?"

"That's me!" Lewis admitted, going on to explain how he'd written a song called 'Lost Without You', with Norwegian DJ Kygo and Australian singer Dean Lewis, but it was set to come out shortly before his own new music.

"I didn't want the press to think: 'Oh, Lewis Capaldi has written this song for Kygo'," he explained, going on to reveal the meaning behind the name.

"So a jobby, for anyone who doesn’t know, is a poo," Lewis explained: "Jobby is a number 2 in Scottish speak." 🙈

What was Elton John's advice to Lewis Capaldi?

Both Elton and Lewis have told fans previously that they met to talk about Lewis' new music. Earlier this week, Elton told us he likes to work with young artists, saying: "When people ask for help or ask me for my opinion, I'm more than happy to give it because I love it! I love the young artists, I love being able to help, why not?"

Lewis also revealed how he valued Elton's opinion, explaining how he helped him to choose his new single. "I was really umming and arring between these two songs," Lewis said.

"There was a real straight up ballad and this 'Forget Me', and he was like, 'can you play me a couple and don't tell me which one you think is the single?', so I played them, and he was like that's your single (talking about 'Forget Me')."

How did Lewis Capaldi preview his new song to fans?

During the interview, Lewis also opened up about his new song 'Forget Me', which was released on 9th September. He previewed the new song at the end of his gig in London last week, which he said was an awful idea!

"If I can be frank with you, it was awful!" Lewis exclaimed, he went on to say: "I'll tell you why, because we did it at the end of a gig... after my last song, which was 'Someone You Love', I say 'right guys, I've got a new single to play you', what I didn't think about was the fact that people have got trains to catch and people have got things to go to! There were just thousands of people leaving the arena, so I'm like 'guys, come on, this is my new single', people were just leaving in their droves!"
