Kings of Leon Announce 6th Album 'Mechanical Bull'
It's set for release this September
Kings of Leon have confirmed their sixth studio album ‘Mechanical Bull’ will come out this autumn.
Produced by long-time cohort Angelo Petraglia at their studio in their native Nashville, Tennessee, the record will be released on Monday 23rd September.
It’s reported that a song entitled ‘Super Soaker’ will precede the record this summer.
Further details are sketchy about the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Come Around Sundown’, however, in a Twitter chat last week bassist Jared Followill revealed it would be musically ambitious.
Asked by a fan whether it’s more aligned to the first two Kings of Leon records or the last two, he responded: “Vibe/feeling could be compared to the first couple. It's much more musically complicated though, so I'd have to say the last 2.”
Kings of Leon’s previous three albums – ‘Come Around Sundown’, 2008’s ‘Only by the Night’ and 2007’s ‘Because of the Times’ – all charted at number one in the UK.
