WATCH: Katy Perry drops a very unusual lyric video for 'Small Talk'
We're playing Katy Perry's new single on Hits Radio
This morning we had our first play of Katy Perry's new song 'Small Talk', to coincide with the release, the pop star has also dropped a very unusual lyric video for the track.
Earlier this week, Katy teased the new song with some handwritten lyrics on a pad of paper. The lyric video starts with the same pad, showing the words 'Small Talk', before showing a water cooler, next to a board with the name of the song.
The video then follows the relationship between an on/off couple who work together, as lyrics from the song are written on objects around them - and even themselves at some points!

Just a couple of days ago, Katy shared some of her lyrics on Instagram, which read, 'I just can't believe, we went from strangers to lovers to strangers in a lifetime', revealing that the songs is about difficult relationships and the distance that develops after a break-up.
Speaking about the new song, Katy echoed the lyrics, saying, "We had conversations about forever now it’s about the weather okay, I just can’t believe we went from strangers to lovers to strangers in a lifetime."
The song was co-written and produced by Charlie Puth, who promoted the song on his own socials earlier this week.
'Small Talk' is Katy's second single of the year, after she released 'Never Really Over' in May. 'Never Really Over' was certified Silver in the UK, making it the singer's 21st Silver single in the UK!
