Katy Perry teases fans with tour setlist from her space flight
She flew into space!
Last updated 17th Apr 2025
Katy Perry is best-known for her mega hits over the last two decades, but on Monday 14th April, she did something that is literally out of this world.
The 'Dark Horse' singer announced back in February, that she would be joining an all-female crew to go into space, and now Katy has shared a video of what it was like while she was in space.
What happened while Katy was in space?
During the actual space flight there was no video from inside the capsule, however, after they touched down, Katy shared a video from inside. Captioning the video, Katy wrote: 'One day when you’re older, will YOU still look up in wonder?
'Still processing this incredible journey ✨ Thank you @blueorigin and to my space sisters, taking up space AND making room in space for all - 143
'See you on tour (when I come down, figuratively)'.
What did Katy take into space?
Katy took a daisy into space with her, representing her daughter who is called Daisy. She also showed the camera a butterfly-shaped trinket which had the setlist for her upcoming tour, however the quality of the video meant that it was very hard to read.
Despite that, some Katy Cats did some detective work, and according to Billboard.com the setlist will include these songs, amongst others: 'Chained to the Rhythm', 'Teary Eyes', 'Dark Horse', 'Harleys in Hawaii', 'OK', 'I Kissed a Girl', 'Has a Heart', 'Last Friday Night', 'Teenage Dream'.
However, Katy has now confirmed the songs on her setlist, by sharing a close up photo of the butterfly-trinket.
What does the capsule look like?
Before going into space, Katy posted a video on Instagram, where she could be seen wearing a blue spacesuit, she spoke to the camera, telling her fans: "OK, I'm going to show you the capsule that we have been training in, for the last few days.
"Here I am, seat number two, this is my colleague Feather. Here are the New Shepard (rocket and capsule). I think I'm going to sing a little bit, I think I've got to sing in space."
She continued: "And these are all of my astronaut girly friends, we are the Taking Up Space Crew, and of course that saying has had a different meaning to it, but I think it's now the first time ever, that it's a double entendre.
"I do believe this, I'm not going to say 'I can't believe I'm here', I do believe this, because I think that believing your dreams and saying that is actually how you make your dreams come true."
The crew consisted of six, including Katy, the others are co-host of CBS Mornings, Gayle King, former journalist and Jeff Bezos' fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, and movie producer, Kerianne Flynn, along with Aisha Bowe who is a former NASA rocket scientist and Amanda Nguyen, a bioastronautics research scientist. This was the first time there has been an all-female space crew since 1963.
When did the rocket launch?
The rocket launched at 8:30am CDT, which is 2.30pm in the UK (BST) on Monday 14th April.
How long did it last?
The entire flight took just 10.5 minutes, with four minutes in space.
Take a look through some of Katy Perry's biggest collaborations:
‘Starstrukk’ with 30H!3
After Katy first burst onto the screen with her debut single 'I Kissed A Girl', she was quick to collaborate with one of the biggest bands in 2009, 3OH!3. The song reached number three in the UK charts and catapulted Katy to worldwide fame.
‘ET’ with Kanye West
Juxtaposing with her "poppy" music vibe, Katy collaborated with Kanye West for this hip-hop, R&B style song, a big risk for the singer/songwriter. But it seemed like it paid off as the song went to number one on the Billboard Top 100 charts and became the third best-selling digital song of 2011 in the United States with sales of 4.83 million.
‘Who You Love’ with John Mayer
Back in 2013 when Katy Perry and John Mayer were an item, they released this loved-up track, accompanied with an even more loved-up music video of the pair all over each other. The song achieved success in the US, with John Mayer's fans becoming even more jealous of Katy for taking him off the market...
‘California Gurls' with Snoop Dogg
We mean, who can forget this classic? There's too many positive things to say about this track. Not only does it bring back all the mems, it also features the legend Snoop Dogg. Iconic.
'California Gurls' has now been certified 3x Platinum.
‘Swish Swish’ with Nicki Minaj
Released in 2017, this song gave birth to the "The Floss" dance, after performance guest Russell Horning performed the dance move on Katy's Saturday Night Live set. And let's not forget, it also has Nicki Minaj on the track. Guaranteed success? We think so.
‘365’ with Zedd
Katy Perry and Zedd wrote this song after Zedd supported the singer on her Witness tour. Released in 2019, the song became an instant hit and got stuck in the heads of almost everyone on the planet. True fact... well, maybe not.
‘Chained To The Rhythm’ with Skip Marley
The grandson of Bob Marley (!!) featured on this dancehall classic, performing the song with Katy at the 2017 Grammy and Brit Awards. Sia also co-wrote the song with Katy, as well as providing backing vocals. Wowee.
‘Feels’ with Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean
Pardon the pun, but this track really did give us all the feels. Four of the biggest artists of 2017 on one track, what's not to like? The song shot straight to number one in the UK, as well as six other countries in Europe.
‘Dark Horse’ with Juicy J
Collaborating with US rapper Juicy J for another banging tune, Katy released 'Dark Horse' in 2013 and it's since been certified 3x Platinum. After releasing the song, Katy revealed she "wrote (the song) from the perspective of a witch warning a man not to fall in love with her." OK then...
'Last Friday Night' with Missy Elliott
T.G.I.F - what we say every Friday but Katy managed to make some money out of it! Interesting fact, the song was first released without Missy Elliott, but once she was added to the track, it shot straight to number one and allegedly boosted the songs sales by 25 per cent.
'Bon Appetit' with Migos
We all remember the video don't we? Where Katy is having food poured all over her body in a kitchen by lots of men dressed up as chefs. Random. But a good song — which has since been certified Gold.
‘If We Ever Meet Again’ with Timbaland
A staple in any 21st Century playlist. Enough said.
'When I'm Gone' with Alesso
Katy teamed up with Swedish DJ and producer Alesso to create their song 'When I'm Gone' which came out on 29th December 2021.
The pair premiered the music video at the halftime show at the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship game in the US on Monday 10th January, and released the official music video on YouTube.
