Following the announcement that Ella would be joining us in Birmingham, she chatted to Hattie Pearson revealing that fans at the gig will have an exclusive! The singer who is about to release her new song 'Filthy Rich' revealed that it will be the first time she will have performed it live to a crowd of this size!
Ella told Hattie: "It'll be the first time I'm actually performing to this size of a crowd my new single (‘Filthy Rich’). So I'm gonna be so nervous, but so excited because it's been a long time coming.
"Literally the Hits Radio Live Exclusive, but yeah, it will be! So I'm mega excited, I know my band are excited and I've been working on this side and I think for so long I've obviously collaborated with so many artists and dipped my toes into the dance genre for some time."
The singer went on to reveal more about her new song, explaining: "I think something in me now, maybe is becoming a bit more of a young woman instead of a young girl. I'm just ready to now share what I've been working on in the background for a bit, but this song is, I guess, honestly, it's like everything I stand for. It's a piece of home, the whole song, it's called 'Filthy Rich’ and it's not what it says on the tin."
Ella continued: "It's actually about the fact that if everything was taken away from me tomorrow, it's about my values and the people that matter to me most, and they're the reason I do everything and they've kept me going through the highs and through the lowest lows.
"And that I'd be nothing without them, and it's kind of a thank you to my friends, my family, who have been with me from day dot and also to my fans that have been there with me through this very wild journey.
"This has got kind of an essence of the music I listened to growing up. It's very songwriter-based, it's got that kind of Tracy Chapman, Carole King-esque to it, but it's also very Stevie Nicks cause I’m a huge Fleetwood Mac fan."
The '0800 Heaven' singer finished: "It's just very out there, it feels to me, I don't know, it's the most authentic I think I've ever been as a songwriter. So I'm very excited to just finally share that with my fans. I think for so long this has been in my little bubble. So to finally share it with the world is nerve wracking!"
Ella has a huge back catalogue of tunes including Top 5 hits, 'Ghost', 'Crazy What Love Can Do' with David Guetta and Becky Hill, 'React' with Switch Disco and 'Glitterball' with Sigma.
