Joel Corry joined Jordan Lee on 30th January to talk about his new single 'Lonely', which we're loving on Hits Radio. The music video for the song features Joel as a doctor along with his sister Aimee Corry, and he told us all about it.

The DJ revealed that it was his amazing director who came up with the concept, explaining that the subject is, "Very relevant... it's about people who are basically obsessed with their smart phones and social media."

In his role as Dr Joel, he plays the leader of this focus group where people are trying to deal without social media. "I'm there to reconnect everybody and bring them back together again and get away from the phones for a little bit," Joel explained.

He went on to say that it's, "A fun video, but it's got quite a strong underlying message as well." However, Joel also admitted that he got really into the role, getting people to call him Dr Joel on set!

The 'Lonely' DJ also revealed that he'd actually written the song last summer, but it's taken until now to release the music, because he felt it was the right time, however as fans will know, he has been playing it in some of his sets. Joel explained, "The response this weekend has been amazing, I've been so happy a lot of people are loving it."

Joel also told us that there's a bit of a story behind his songs. Starting with his debut 'Sorry', he explained how the lyrics are about a relationship that's breaking up and ending badly, however 'Lonely' is like when you're over that breakup.

He then teased, that he needs to make the "next chapter", about being on your own and loving life. "Watch out man, the trilogy's coming," Joel told Jordan.
