Cheryl has just released her brand new single, 'Love Made Me Do It'. The track, which has already racked up nearly 30,000 views on YouTube, is Cheryl's first music release in four years - and is completely different to anything she's done before.
The 35-year-old, who will be performing at Hits Live in Manchester on Sunday 25th November, has also filmed a super-sassy video to go alongside the new song, which has pretty minimalist instrumental backing, and focuses primarily on Cheryl's vocals with percussion and harmonies as the main accompaniment.
You can watch Cheryl's new video for 'Love Made Me Do It' on her YouTube channel. WARNING: The video contains swearing.
Cheryl has previously explained that the song "isn't about anyone in particular" and is about how she's "always falling in love" because she simply "loves love", as she explained on Jessie Ware's podcast, Table Manners, earlier this week.
The mum-of-one used the opportunity to shut down any rumours that the song was about One Direction star Liam Payne, who she split from in July this year after two years together.
The lyrics to the chorus are,
'‘Cause I’m breaking all my rules but love made me do it / Should have used my head ’cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn’t my fault) / Love made me do it (it wasn’t my fault)
And now I’m losing all my cool but love made me do it / Should have used my head ’cause my heart really blew it
Love made me do it (it wasn’t my fault) / Love made me do it, and I’d do it again'
Needless to say, Cheryl's fans were loving her new song, and many took to Twitter to share their happiness at her return to music. One wrote, 'Cheryl’s new song is a bop for sure. It seems like her most authentic song - written from a good place. Intrigued to hear other songs and whether they’re along the same lines.'
Another tweeted, 'Absolutely in love with @CherylOfficial new song..!!! #queenisback #beenalong4years #newtourhopefully #illbethefirstinthequeue,' as another penned, 'Absolutely loving @CherylOfficial new song think every woman and man even can relate, don’t apologise for following your heart love made me do it.' sic
