Author: Russell ShirePublished 26th Jul 2019

Star of the hit Netflix show 'Designated Survivor' Kiefer Sutherland joined Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, Greg and James.

Watch Greg fanboy when he discovered he'd meet the Hollywood star:

Kiefer talked about his experience on tour with his band and 'the rock and roll life' :

"The last three shows that we played here in England really threw me because people were singing the lyrics," he explained, "All of a sudden someone is singing the lyrics back at you and its like 'oh my gosh I better not get it wrong'!"

Life on a tour bus proved to be quiet different from the movie sets, with the star stating that sharing the cosy space with sixteen other band members "becomes kinda like an episode of 'Survivor'."

Sutherland also revealed that out of the ten songs on his album 'Reckless & Me' he had written seven, including his new single 'Open Road'. Clearly the actor's talents are not restricted to the silver screen.

When asked by Fleur whether he would consider combining his two passions Kiefer replied, "For now that would be something I would keep separate." However, he did not hesitate to express his admiration for Bradley Cooper's performance in the award winning 'A Star Is Born'.

"I thought Bradley Cooper did such a great job, not only directing it but I thought he did an amazing job playing that performer."

Greg Burns also revealed he has a family pet named after one of Kiefer's most iconic roles, and had a cheeky request for the Hollywood A-Lister:

Born in the UK, Kiefer felt at home performing gigs in Newcastle, Bristol and Brighton. On the topic of his British heritage Greg highlighted his eligibility to run for Prime Minister!

"Now that I don't have to be elected, I'm in," he responded, cheekily alluding to Boris Johnson's appointment as Conservative leader and Prime Minister.

Will the next stop on his world tour be Downing Street? Pasty shop Greggs appeared to be a more suitable destination as Kiefer revealed that one of his staples when touring the UK is an assortment of Greggs sausage rolls and chicken bakes.

"Every once in a while we'll show up at a gig and- you know, we'll have like fifteen sausage rolls and chicken bakes and the lot," he stated, "I've never seen a crew happier than that in my life and myself as well."
