WATCH: Girl makes epic blunder on Pointless and her teammates reaction is brutal
Oh dear!
It’s not every day you get to appear on one of the most popular quiz shows on television so when you finally get your moment you don’t want to mess it up, but that’s exactly what happend to a recent contestant on Pointless and her friend definitely wasn’t impressed.
On a recent episode of the show, quiz host Alexander Armstrong welcomed best friends Sarah and Mariam to the studio to answer general knowledge questions based on a survey given to 100 people throughout the UK.
It sounds simple but it seems the question Sarah was given took her by surprise and led her to give a rather stupid answer. Alexander asked Sarah to name a country that ended in two consonants and after boasting that she has an A-Level in Geography we thought she had this one in the bag…
That wasn’t the case, when she reluctantly said ‘Paris’, the capital of France but most certainly not a country, Mariam seemed as shocked as viewers watching at home. And to top it off it doesn't even end in two consonants!
Clearly not impressed by her friend’s answer, viewers of the show noticed the fuming look Mariam gave Sarah. Check it out below:
If looks could kill!
Viewers of the show took to Twitter to express their humour. Many jokingly suggested their friendship would be over after the awkward moment on the show, with others completely shocked at Sarah’s answer.
Of course ‘Paris’ was given as an incorrect answer, meaning the girls scored a maximum of 100 points. When it was Mariam’s turn she could only reach a score of 34, meaning the girls were out of the competition at the first round.
