Tom Walker explains why he's terrible at Karaoke

Can you believe? Tom Walker says he's terrible at Karaoke! We were hoping he might be entertaining his family with some Christmas songs this festive season, but the singer admitted there will be no singing for a month from 20th December.

The 'Leave a Light On' singer surprised Hits Radio's Sarah-Jane Crawford backstage at Hits Live by admitting that if the song is in the wrong key he can't sing it.

"I just can't do it," Tom explained, "I was trying to sing AC/DC at Karaoke and it was like squeaky 'Back in Black'. I really couldn't do it, by the end of the night, I couldn't speak, my voice was knackered." We reckon he's better than he's making out!

When it comes to Christmas presents, Tom told Sarah-Jane that last year he spent a lot more on his family, because he was making up for 10 years of rubbish presents. "I got my sister some ridiculously expensive, nice noise-cancelling headphones," Tom told us, "I proper made it up last year, I got my Mum a couple of bottles of really nice Champagne."

However, this year things are different for the singer who is engaged to Annie. Tom admitted his fiancée wants to do things together now, "So we're doing double gifts, because we're a real couple now!"

The singer also opened up about his wedding plans, revealing that the pair will be looking to buy a place together next year. Tom said that as they live in London, he'll have to wait until they've got somewhere before getting married as otherwise it might "bankrupt" him!

He also confessed that he gets emotional singing 'Better Half Of Me' on tour as it's about his fiancée, especially when the audience sing it back to him, "At first there were maybe 10 people who'd heard it the day before, then the next day it was 50.

"By the end of the tour the entire venue had their phone lights out waving them in the air, lighters going up, singing the song - and that's such a nice thing to see."
