Strictly's Jay McGuiness says the show is 'scraping the barrel' for celebs
He's asked about the show's romances
The Wanted's Jay McGuiness says Strictly Come Dancing is 'scraping the barrel' for celebrities.
Jay - who's thought to be favourite to win the show - was asked why there hadn't yet been a romance between dance partners and the contestants yet.
Speaking on Alan Carr's Chatty Man he said "After 10 years of Strictly they're scraping the barrel for who they can get to do it. People are going 'Umm, I don't think anyone fancies that' I'm all right thanks'."
But there's been rumours about Jay and his married dance partner Aliona after they were apparently spotted holding hands, though the two have denied any affair.
He's the first contestant to score a ten this series but added that he needs to work on his facial expressions to please the judges, adding:
"I've been told I have to work on my face a few times. I was in a boy band and I'm acutely aware it's asymmetrical. From one side it's passable right?I'll have to choreograph the side that doesn't make him retch - so he holds up a five, a six, or a two."
The show is in its 13th series.
