Former Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward has released new photos of himself to show off his brand new physique, following a 21 week training programme with Ultimate Performance Fitness.

Shayne, who first found fame on The X Factor back in 2005, posted photos of himself on social media, revealing he's 'feeling amazing', after 'losing three and a half stone'.

The 35-year-old said he was feeling "a lot healthier in body and mind" after shedding twenty four pounds.

Shayne confessed, "I’m happy to not be in that place I was 21 weeks ago. I was sluggish, I was stressed and I didn’t really want to do anything.

"When I started training, I wasn’t in the greatest place – I was trying to balance everything on my shoulders in my personal and professional life. I didn’t enjoy ‘me’."

He added, "It doesn’t just mean getting bulging biceps or a bigger chest, it means you can be a lot healthier in body and mind. My confidence is through the roof. People say 'you look happier', 'your confidence is so much better'."

Posting to his followers on Instagram, the actor said, 'I’m so happy to share with you the results of my training with @up_north_pt for 21 weeks. I have lost 3 1/2 stone in total and feel amazing. Thank you UP For everything. #forevergrateful.' sic

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one user writing, 'Wow you look boom boom amizing ❤️,' while another wrote, 'Well done, the hard work has certainly paid off 👍🏻😍🔥.'

A third follower said, 'Still love you however you look xx but you do look AMAZING ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜XX'. A fourth avid fan commented, 'I’ve just got back in to the gym! I am trying so hard.. Breathless came on today and it reminded me of you and the concerts in Manchester... you look unreal! 💥🔥.'

Shayne's recent image overhaul comes after he opened up about his weight gain on Loose Women. Revealing he got trolled for his size, he said he had "thick skin" so could take the criticism.

He told the panel at the time, "I can laugh about the abuse because I have thick skin."
