Shawn Mendes responds to rumours about his sexuality

Shawn Mendes just opened up to his fans in a heartfelt video responding to rumours that he is gay.
The 17-year-old added a video to Snapchat where he admitted he is ‘frustrated’ that people refer to ‘being gay’ as a negative thing.
He said “First of all, I’m not gay, second of all, it shouldn’t make a difference if I was or if I wasn’t. The focus should be on the music and not my sexuality. I’m not frustrated because people were saying that I was gay at all, I have no problem with that because it wouldn’t make a difference to me, I’m frustrated because in this day and age people have the audacity to write online that I’m gay as if it were a bad thing.”

Fans were quick to praise the singer for his maturity on the subject.
The Canadian first shot to fame in 2015 when his debut solo album ‘Handwritten’ reached number one on the Billboard 200.
