She's currently a massive pop star, but Selena Gomez started off as an actress and it seems that she may be returning to acting temporarily. The 25-year-old is reportedly due to lend her voice to a character in the upcoming Dr Dolittle film, starring Robert Downey Jr in the title role.
The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is due for release in April next year and the Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the 'Hands to Myself' singer will be voicing one of the animals that Dr Dolittle talks to.
Also starring in the film will be Tom Holland, Emma Thompson and Ralph Fiennes as voice actors, and Michael Sheen and Antonio Banderas as live-action characters.
Selena made a name for herself starring in children's TV shows in the early 2000s including Barney & Friends, going on to play the lead role of Alex Russo in the Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place.

In the lats 2000s she started out in the music industry as part of a group called Selena Gomez & the Scene. They had three studio albums between 2009 and 2011, and a number of singles, one which reached number 7 in the UK charts.
After a couple of years away from the music scene Selena then returned as a solo artist in 2013. Since then she has had two top 20 albums in the UK, spawning countless singles including the hits 'It Ain't Me' with Kygo and 'Wolves' with Marshmello, both released last year.

Last month fans were very excited at the prospect of a collaboration between Selena and Zayn Malik for the new live-action Aladdin film which stars Will Smith as the Genie. The rumour was started by a fan account who said, 'RUMOR: Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik are reportedly to be featured on a song together for the upcoming live action Disney movie “Aladdin”.' sic
This was followed shortly afterwards by another fan account which said, 'It is RUMORED that Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik are featured on a duet for the upcoming Disney movie “Aladdin”. Nothing has been confirmed by either of their teams'.
