It's all kicking off in Coronation Street's latest love triangle between Eva Price (played by Catherine Tyldesley), husband Aidan Connor (played by Shayne Ward) and Maria Connor (played by Samia Longchambon). Aidan and Maria embarked on an affair months ago, but Eva found out about the betrayal by her boyfriend and best friend and has gone on the war path.

Eva’s revenge plot escalated further than viewers could ever have predicted as she faked her pregnancy to turn boyfriend Aidan into her husband.

Earlier in the week, Maria interrupted the wedding and exposed her love rival's lies and in tonight's double bill there'll be an almighty catfight that sees Eva make Maria pay by pushing her into a fountain.

Mike Toolan, from our Key 103 Breakfast Show, caught up with Samia Longchambon to talk about what will happen next.

Samia told Mike, "Maria's kind of thrown the bomb and then watched it all blow up and then stepped back from it all, so it's more about how it affects Eva and Aidan."

So is there going to be a happy ending for Maria?

Samia doesn't think so, she told us, "I think she's one of those girls that's basically going to be unlucky in love forever and she's destined to be unlucky in love and never find a prince."

Samia has also been talking about what fun it was to film the fight with Catherine Tyldesley. Speaking to Digital Spy Samia explained; "The fight was so much fun, actually. I was dreading it beforehand, because of the pressure to get it right. I couldn't envisage how it was going to work.

"But on the day, the director just gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted to do. There was pretty much no direction in the fight, everything you see is ad-libbed. It was brilliant fun.

"The worst thing for me was that she grabbed my hair and shoved my head into the water. It wasn't a nice thing to happen, I won't lie!

"The worst thing I did was rip her hair extensions out and throw her tiara away! I tried to dunk her in the water, but it was hard with that wedding dress in the way – it was massive."

Off screen Samia is happily married ice dancer Sylvain Longchambon, who was her partner on Dancing On Ice in 2013. They tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in August, 2016.

Samia gave birth to their son, Yves Joseph Longchambon, on the 24th September 2015.

Samia has a daughter Freya with her ex husband Matt Smith, a property developer, who was born on 19th October 2009.

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
