Since appearing in Normal People and captivating the hearts of the nation as Connell Waldron, Irish actor Paul Mescal has become somewhat of a national treasure, with men and woman up and down the country expressing their love for him.

Ahead of the Normal People reunion, which will see Paul team up with his co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones to bring Connell and Marianne back together for a Comic Relief special in Ireland, Paul has been putting his acting skills to good use.

Just like some of the world's biggest actors, including Tom Hardy and Hugh Jackman, Paul has been reading a children's bedtime story, in aid of charity Save The Children UK.

In a video which was posted online, Paul reads a book called Elmer and Super El by author David McKee, a story about a friendship of two elephants.

24-year-old Paul got involved with the charity's Save With Stories campaign, in order to help raise funds for children in the UK. Other celebs to take part in the campaign include Rita Ora, Paloma Faith and even Meghan Markle and Prince Harry!

After the video was uploaded online, it seems fans of Paul thoroughly enjoyed his Irish accent whilst reading the book, one commented, 'You best believe twenty four year old me just sat and watched all of this'. (sic)

Another wrote, 'You will make a great Dad one day. What a lovely thing to do', with a third writing, 'This is the best thing I've watched all day'. (sic)
