Nina Nesbitt admits she TURNED DOWN Lewis Capaldi to support her
She's teamed up with John Newman on 'Without You'
Last updated 28th Apr 2020
Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt and John Newman joined us on Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, Greg and James today (30th August). Celebrating the release of their new collaboration, 'Without You', the pair told us about their new music.
The singers admitted the collab came about because they've known each other for years, and really like each other's music. When Fleur said they sound "wonderful together" and described their song as an anthem to be played at festivals, John agreed saying, "it feels good for that, it feels exciting."
Away from music, Nina opened up about the awkward moment when she stopped a gig because she thought she'd seen a UFO, but it turned out to be a boat!
Nina, who recently appeared on stage with Lewis Capaldi, said they are now friends, but admitted that years ago she turned him down as a support act! It turns out that Lewis Capaldi and Nina are from a similar area of Scotland, and the upcoming singer entered a competition to support Nina on tour.
However, Nina admitted that she turned him down, later saying she was sure that the link must not have worked or something! Of course, Lewis is now very successful, having released songs such as, 'Someone You Loved' and 'Hold Me While You Wait'. Awks!
