It's not been the best few months for Love Island 2018 star Megan Barton-Hanson. Not only did she split from her boyfriend Wes Nelson, the model was rushed to hospital with a mystery illness.

Now, after Megan admitted she's 'never been so scared', it's been revealed why she was taken to hospital, and it's truly terrifying. According to new reports today, Megan was forced to go to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction to her brown hair dye, which left her unable to breathe after her throat swelled up.

According to reports, Megan started to feel unwell the night after having her hair dyed, leaving her terrified after she couldn't breathe. Megan was later taken to A&E in an ambulance, with the reality star being given treatment by doctors.

After the scary ordeal, Megan took to her socials to update her fans, writing, 'The comeback is always STRONGER than the set back 💫 Finally starting to feel a little more human again, I’ve never been so scared! When the doctor looks at you in shock and says we need to call an ambulance right now, a day before I was due to fly to LA 😓Thank you all so much for your well wishes and support it means so much. Meg xx'. sic

Meanwhile, in more positive news for the reality star, it looks like Megan is about to release a tell-all autobiography.

The 24-year-old reality star's first book is said to have publishers in a 'bidding war' over the rights following the success of co-star Dani Dyer's debut autobiography What Would Dani Do? My Guide to Living Your Best Life.
