Avicii's new single is released today.
Avicii spoke to our reporter Lydia Batham about his upcoming single 'For a Better Day' and working with Coldplay's Chris Martin.
'For a Better Day' is Avicii's latest single which is as collaboration with Alex Ebert, an American singer-songwriter. He said during the making of the album this song is featured on he had over 100 demos which he worked on before decided on what would make the final cut.
With Alex he wrote about five or six songs before settling on 'For a Better Day' which he described as "a hipster feel" with "piano ballads turning into Swede and Californian dreams!"
Avicii admitted the video for this track is very dark "it's quite disturbing" he said "it's about trafficking so it's a very dark story."
The 'Hey Brother' artist says he thinks of Chris Martin (from Coldplay) as a big brother. The pair worked on 'Sky Full of Stars' last year which was the first dance track released by the band.
Avicii said he did a number of remixes before he got to meet Chris, but now he thinks of him as a friend. "I rarely get starstruck" he said, "but with Chris Martin I was starstruck at the beginning".
