Liam Payne admits he hopes ex Cheryl finds the 'happiness' she deserves

Cheryl and Liam split in 2018

They are no longer together and Hits Live artist Liam Payne has now moved on with model Maya Henry, but that doesn't mean the former One Direction singer isn't still friends with his ex-girlfriend, and mother of his child Cheryl.

The pair, who share two-year-old Bear Grey Payne together, split in the Summer of 2018, but they continue to co-parent their son and remain the very best of friends.

Liam, who is performing at Hits Live Manchester on Sunday 17th November, has already flooded his ex with praise about being a 'fantastic mum', and he even called her the most 'important person in his life'.

Clearly having a lot of respect for the 36-year-old, Liam has now spoken candidly about her again, during an interview with Ant Middleton for the TV special Ant Middleton & Liam Payne: Straight Talking.

When Ant asks about his relationship with the former X Factor judge, Liam said, "It’s not the most normal situation. My life is abnormal, so what is normal? We genuinely get on, there are so many parallels we share in life."

Liam then went on to admit he often thinks about his ex 'moving on', but revealed he hopes she finds the happiness that she deserves.

He said, "I hope she’s happy, she deserves it, she’s a great mum, she works hard, she deserves to find happiness. I have thought long and hard about her moving on with someone else. We will find our own peace with it, for now, it’s good. I go over, do whatever, watch TV, it’s good, it’s nice."

Lovely words Liam! ❤️

Meanwhile, if you are a fan of Liam Payne, don't miss his performance at Hits Live Manchester on Sunday 17th November, alongside Robbie Williams, Louis Tomlinson, Mabel, Mark Ronson, Anne-Marie, Tom Walker, Zara Larsson and Jonas Blue.
