Coronation Street's Kym Marsh has opened up about a 'terrifying' health scare that recently left her bed-ridden. The 42-year-old, who recently announced that she's leaving Corrie after 13 years as Michelle Connor, has revealed that she was rushed to hospital and is still waiting on test results to find out what caused the sudden condition.

Writing about the ordeal in her column for OK! magazine, mum-of-three Kym revealed that she'd been taken to Alexandra Hospital in Manchester after suddenly falling ill, and that doctors had been stumped by what was causing the discomfort.

Kym wrote, 'I felt so awful I had to go to the Alexandra Hospital in Manchester. I was shaking, I felt terrible and like I’d been hit by a truck. They ran lots of tests on me and I’m still waiting for the results, but doctors think it could be Salmonella poisoning, which is really serious. The ordeal has been terrifying and I’ve never felt so ill! I was bed-ridden for four days.'

Thankfully, Kym had her two grown-up children David and Emilie on-hand to look after eight-year-old daughter Polly whilst she went to get seen, and wrote, 'The whole family rallied around me, David and Emilie had to get Polly up and ready for school because I couldn’t get out of bed.'
