Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh cannot wait for her daughter Emilie Cunliffe to give birth later this year. The 42-year-old, who has played Michelle Connor on the soap since 2006, appeared on This Morning with her daughter to discuss the upcoming birth - and revealed she will NOT be known as 'Granny' when Emilie has her baby in April.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, Kym said she didn't want one of the usual nicknames from her unborn grandson, saying, "I can’t... I’m really excited about being a grandparent but I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m being a grandma or nanny!’"

The former Hear'Say singer then revealed that they'd been doing some research into what she could be called, "So we looked on a website and found alternative names and I’m going to be Lolly!"

Kym gushed over 21-year-old Emilie's pregnancy, adding that being a young mum runs in the family. She said, "Obviously it was a shock initially and wasn’t something I was expecting quite so soon, but I’m ecstatic and can’t wait.

"My mum was 18 when she had my eldest brother, my sister was 18 when she had her first child, and I was 18 when I had David... so actually, you’ve done quite well!"

Kym added that she could really relate to Emilie's situation, having had her when she was 21, "She celebrated her 21st birthday and couldn't drink being pregnant, but it was exactly the same for me as I was pregnant with her on my 21st. So I knew how she felt.

"What advice would I pass on? It’s hard work and there are things you can’t just do. You can’t go off on girls holidays and everything at the drop of a hat, but I think Emilie is a very mature 21-year-old, and she’s very aware of what it’s going to mean and what it’s going to involve and whilst it is difficult and it is hard work, I wouldn't change what I have with my children."

She continued, "When people had babies years ago, certainly when mum had them at 18, it wasn’t a big deal, I think nowadays I think women are making career choices a little bit more and people are leaving it a little bit later."

Emilie agreed, "I always thought I would have my career and everything sorted beforehand, but obviously things happen, and you just go with it really don’t you? My partner was so excited. Once we were past the shock and scary part we were both excited."
