Katie Price has apparently been left "terrified" after her house reportedly caught on fire. The blaze is thought to have originated in the bedroom of her son, five-year-old Jett, but Katie's step-dad Paul was able to contain it "quickly" before it spread.

Unfortunately, it's thought to have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage, which couldn't have come at a worse time for Katie as she's trying to sell the property to help her avoid bankruptcy.

Metro.co.uk report that the fire was put out without the emergency services having to come, and no-one was harmed.

The publication also report that an insider close to the star is trying to sell her mansion in Sussex, which means that the fire is "really bad news for Katie". They revealed that it will "cost her a fortune to repair."

They went on to say that Katie and the family were "terrified the house was going to burn down," adding that the hallway and bedroom have been "blackened by smoke and it’s a big clean-up operation."

However, if it wasn't for Paul, the entire house could have burned. They said, "Nobody knows how it started but if Paul hadn’t been visiting at the time with Katie’s mum Amy, the whole house could have burnt to the ground."

Katie's team submitted to the courts proposals for an individual voluntary agreement (IVA) in August, and her next court date will be 30th October to discuss the issue further.

The agreement ensures that people who owe money are given a payment plan to repay their debts over a period of time, as she reportedly owes half a million pounds in unpaid tax bills.
