The amazing Joel Corry, creator of Summer anthem 'Sorry', joined us backstage at Hits Live on Friday 15th December, telling us all about his epic year, his plans for Christmas, and of course, the success of THAT banging tune.

The 30-year-old revealed it's an absolute 'dream come true' to play at a show like Hits Live, even joking he done a 'few press-ups' to get him pumped to go on stage to the sell-out crowd.

Joel also told presenter Jordan Lee about the success of his massive hit 'Sorry', revealing he's had an incredible Summer touring the world in places like Ibiza, Malia, Magaluf and Zante. He said, "It's honestly been the most incredible Summer, I've been DJing in resorts like Zante, Malia, Managua, Ibiza, and it's been such a buzz because the tune has been massive out there. There's been loads of highlights over the Summer really, Ibiza is amazing, it's my favourite place in the world, so to watch it go off over the has just been incredible."

The DJ also recounted the surreal moment when a group of girls recognised him walking down the Zante strip, and started to belt out the anthem in his face, which resulted in the whole strip singing along to 'Sorry'.

Brilliant! 🤣🤣🤣

Of course, if you've been watching The X Factor: Celebrity, you'll be aware that the Love Island super group, made up of Samira Mighty, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Zara McDermott, performed Joel's track 'Sorry' during the live shows, leaving Simon Cowell bopping away.

Speaking about the moment he saw the show, Joel said, "Simon Cowell is like my hero, so I was like 'OMG Simon is bopping along to Sorry right now'. I think they smashed it, I posted on my Instagram, I messaged them. I'm sad they went out thought."

Producer Joel hit the spotlight after his single 'Sorry' was featured on Love Island 2019. The song, featuring vocals from Hayley May, peaked at Number 6 in the UK and was the most searched-for song on Shazam, with over 40,000 searches in one day. He also featured on Geordie Shore in 2013 alongside former girlfriend Sophie Kasaei.
