James Hype reveals his controversial views about Christmas Day

James Hype has been making quite a name for himself over the past year, releasing huge hit 'More Than Friends' as well as a phenomenal collaboration with none other than music legend, Craig David - 'No Drama'.

After an amazing year of singles and performances, he's lent his talents to the crowd at the Manchester Arena for Hits Radio Live in an amazing line-up alongside Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Cheryl, James Arthur, The Vamps, Mabel and Rak-Su.

James, who's originally from Liverpool, spoke to our very own Sarah-Jane Crawford backstage at Hits Radio Live in Manchester this evening, opening up about what he's achieved so far - adding that he already has his eye on The Weeknd and Drake to collaborate with next.

But he also spoke out about his plans for Christmas - revealing a VERY controversial opinion about everyone's favourite holiday.

"It's a bit overhyped isn't it, Christmas," he shockingly admitted. "I feel like it's a bit overhyped because everyone gets dead excited and then it's like, now we sit here and wait to eat and then do the same again and then go to bed."

James added that his Christmas Day is normally "a chilled family thing," saying, "Monopoly is fun but it can go horribly wrong. And then there's always someone who robs the bank!"

He's also not happy about Christmas decorations going up at this time of year, saying, "It gets to this time of year and the decorations start going up and you start seeing them and you're like, 'Seriously?'"
