James Arthur recounts the AWKWARD moment he was mistaken for Ed Sheeran
Awks!
James Arthur joined Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, Greg and James today (9th September) and after Fleur was complimenting him on his hair, he revealed the awkward moment when he was mistaken for Ed Sheeran!
Telling Hits Radio Breakfast, James explained, "The other day I was at a restaurant and the guy was like ‘Ah are you that singer?’ and I was like ‘Uh yeah it’s me’ and he was like ‘yeah Ed Sheeran’. I was like so yeah OK, the hair’s looking pretty ginger I need to sort it out."
James, who has just released his new single 'Treehouse' AND announced a new tour for 2020, 'YOU' also told us about his pre-show routine, explaining, "We tend to listen to 90s RnB or like cheesy boyband classics, they kind of get us feeling loose, some NSYNC ‘Bye Bye Bye’ tends to get a little outing...The thing is we go out and play a rock show, basically, and yeah it’s heavy so we just kind of get ourselves loosened up with some cheesy numbers."
The pop star then went on to reveal a little about his upcoming tour next month, which is titled, 'YOU' Up Close and Personal UK tour, not to be confused with next year's tour, also called 'YOU'.
"My hardcore fans who have been coming to the gigs for the last couple of years are probably sick of hearing the same thing," he explained, "So they’ll be excited to know that we’ll be playing a good chunk of the new album and I’m really excited for that. Rehearsals are underway to kind of get all of those dialled in and sounding good."
On Friday, James Arthur also announced his 2020 tour 'YOU'.

James' tour announcement came on the same day he dropped his new song, 'Treehouse'. The new release features US superstar rapper Ty Dolla $ign and British rising star Shotty Horroh, and has its roots in retro hip hop. James explained, "I’m very excited because it’s something different for me, I’ve been putting out, you know, quite a few ballads, and it’s nice to show that I’m not just a balladeer, it’s lovely.
"It’s meant to feel lighthearted and feel-good but I guess the message behind it is, you know, it’s okay not to be okay and just kind of surrender sometimes to your worries, and find that happy place, ‘Treehouse’ is the place in this particular song."
