Could she?

Now we all know how successful One Direction became off the back of The X Factor despite not winning the show, and now Honey G has vowed to follow in their footsteps.

After narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-final, Honey G has admitted she is setting her sights at global domination just like the One Direction boys.

Speaking after her elimination, the aspiring rapper said, “I'm kind of looking to come in at the level that One Direction came in at. I know that I can create that hype. I just need the opportunity to be able to sell the records, get the right PR behind me, get the right team behind me that's really going to blow me up."

She also added that she hopes music mogul Simon Cowell will offer her a record deal with his label SyCo. He did call her a ‘legend’ after all!

Speaking to a national newspaper, Honey G admitted that she doesn't see herself as a ‘joke act’ and entered The X Factor for the sole reason of getting a record deal. She said, “I entered The X Factor because I wanted a record deal. I'm not really interested in anything else apart from getting signed to get a record deal.”

After her dramatic exit on Sunday night, Honey G then appeared on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Scofield to discuss her time on the show.

Watch the full interview below:

Honey G, real name Anne Georgette Guilford, made X Factor history during Saturday night’s show when she performed the Mannequin Challenge during her performance.

Despite this, she then lost her place on the show when she found herself in the bottom two against popular boyband Five After Midnight. Despite her mentor Sharon Osbourne doing her best to persuade the other judges, Louis Walsh, Nicole Sherzinger and Simon Cowell all chose to send the rapper home.

Watch the moment below:

It seems Sharon needed a little reminder about who she was sending home. You would have thought that after over a decade of being a judge on The X Factor Sharon Osbourne would know how the show 'works'.

However, over the weekend eagle-eyed viewers noticed Sharon's cue cards when she playfully 'hit' Louis, in an attempt to shut him up, reminding her who to send home.

Printed with the words 'THE NAME OF THE ACT I AM SENDING HOME IS...' and a scribble underneath, presumably saying '5 After Midnight', the cards were revealed during Sunday night's show.

Ooops!

It hasn’t yet been announced whether Honey G will get that record deal but we don’t think One Direction have anything to worry about just yet…
