The actress has received more online abuse for her physique

Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson has shared the perfect response to trolls who left ‘awful’ comments on her red carpet photos from the TV Choice Awards.

Taking to Instagram to share two pictures alongside each other, the popular actress admitted she had to delete ‘awful comments’ about her appearance after online trolls called her ‘too big’ and ‘not feminine’.

She then went on to tell the trolls to ‘educate’ themselves about how muscles work.

Gemma’s full post reads “To the people whose awful comments I’ve deleted saying I’m “too big” or “not feminine” go and educate yourself on how your muscles actually work.

"These are obviously pics of my arms taken less than an hour apart except on the left pic I'm holding a bag, covered in moisturiser and stood under a light. It's a professional photo taken with a flash. The right pic I'm holding nothing, not under a light and not covered in moisturiser and no camera flash. It's THAT simple.

"Why do you think before a photo shoot some people lift weights to get a pump on, oil up and ask to be lit well??? Muscles look way more defined in pictures than in the flesh. I happen to LOVE my arms in both pics. I LOVE that I can lift heavy, punch hard and look bad ass when I need to as well.

"Criticising someone because of how they look doesn’t make you better. In fact, the stuff you are critical about in others is probably the stuff you hate about yourself. So rather than typing “your arms too big” just go and improve your own and try and catch me up.” (sic)

This isn’t the first time Gemma has received online abuse. Back in July she was called ‘masculine’ after posting a selfie in the gym.

The former model has turned into a gym fanatic in recent years and often shares snaps of her incredible figure with fans.

Gemma has become a fan favourite in ITV soap Emmerdale since she joined back in 2015, the actress plays the role of Carly Hope.
