Emmerdale's Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden open up about baby No.4
They're the soap's real life couple!
Emmerdale stars Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden have revealed they’re planning on having more children in the future while discussing renewing their wedding vows. The couple have been married for two years and together for 13, and share three sons – Buster, nine, and Bowie, four, and baby Ace, who they welcomed last summer.
But speaking about whether they would renew their vows so that Ace could be part of the festivities, Charley insisted they’d have to be "absolutely finished having kids" before they considered it.
"I couldn’t do it, then have another baby because then we would have to do it again," she told OK! magazine. And Matthew agreed, adding, "When we have a night with no sleep, we go, ‘That’s it, no more!’ But we said recently that we can’t see this being the last baby in the house."
Charley then said, "I always have really tough pregnancies, that’s the only thing. But I don’t feel like I’m finished. I don’t know how many kids I want, but I think I’ll know when I’m done. I may not be able to have any more, so who knows? I feel blessed with three healthy boys so sometimes I feel like it’s greedy having another."
Charley and Matthew have played Debbie Dingle and David Metcalfe on the soap since 2002 and 2006 respectively, and have each been embroiled in some of Emmerdale’s most controversial storylines.
Most recently, David Metcalfe discovered his girlfriend, Maya Stepney, had been having an affair with his teenaged son, Jacob Gallagher – and after her release from prison left her baby on their doorstep, leaving viewers baffled as to who the father might be.
Meanwhile, Debbie moved to Scotland last summer after the dramatic exposure of her boyfriend Joe Tate’s real identity and learning that her father Cain Dingle had left him for dead.
