Ellie Goulding reveals her plans for Christmas and her New Year's resolutions

As Christmas approaches we couldn't wait to find out what some of the Hits Radio Live artists are up to, in the run up to the 25th December. Ellie Goulding opened up to Sarah-Jane Crawford backstage at Hits Radio Live where she revealed what she would be doing over the festive period - and it's all for a good cause.

Ellie revealed that on the 20th December she would be taking part in a show, which has an amazing line-up including Years & Years, Clean Bandit and Dua Lipa, to raise money for Streets of London, a charity that raises awareness about homelessness. The pop star went on to explain that there are "320,000 people homeless in the country" and "every little helps".

The 'Close To Me' singer then revealed she will be doing more charity work in the run up to Christmas, volunteering at a women's shelter on the 23rd and 24th, where she usually enjoys a bit of karaoke, before relaxing with her family on Christmas Day itself.

The conversation then turned to the inevitable New Year's resolutions, and it seems like Ellie is just like the rest of us, admitting that she usually doesn't make one, because if she does, she'll break it within a week!

During the interview, Ellie also opened up about her wedding plans, having recently got engaged to Caspar Jopling. Speaking to Sarah-Jane, she said she has already started her wedding planning, but she's focussing more on the release of her upcoming new album.
