Celebrity Big Brother: Tiffany goes into meltdown thinking David Gest had died

Angie reveals her ex-husband David Bowie had passed away

Celebrity Big Brother contestant Tiffany Pollard had a meltdown in the house when she misinterpreted Angie Bowie’s devastating news that David Bowie had died.

Shown on Channel 5 last night, Angie was told off camera that her rock legend ex-husband had lost an 18-month battle with cancer. She was later comforted in the diary room by fellow housemates David Gest and John Partridge.

Decided to withhold the news from the rest of the house, Angie told Tiffany in the kitchen: “You gotta do me a favour, you can't say a word. David's dead.”

Believing Angie meant David GEST, who was resting up in bed from illness at the time, Tiffany went into full on meltdown mode howling and screaming: “You're playing, I know you're joking!”

With confusion reigning supreme, things took a turn for the worse when Darren Day helped Tiffany lift the covers off David Gest’s bed only to discover he was alive and well.

Tiffany, still unable to control her emotions, shrieked: “David, she just told me that you're dead!”

Witnessing the debacle, Angie retreated to the diary room, with the housemates momentarily turning on her before it clicked that David Bowie had in fact died when John Partridge announced it to them.

This didn’t stop Tiffany from reacting with anger and confusion – even when she knew Bowie had died – still accusing Angie of saying it was David Gest.

Ostracised from the group - and with John saying she should quit - a defiant Tiffany told Celebrity Big Brother she was refusing to leave: “That's too f***ing bad because I'm not gonna leave. They're gonna have to get me evicted because I'm not just gonna walk off, I'm not a quitter.'

However, the stress of the situation all proved too much for Kim Kardashian’s best mate Jonathan who decided to walk later in the evening.

Fortunately, after several hours the whole situation was calmed down when Tiffany apologised to the grieving Angie.

"I'm so sorry about about what happened earlier, you didn't do anything wrong I was just really confused," she said.
