Ashley Cain welcomes baby with special name in tribute to late daughter Azaylia

Reality TV star Ashley Cain has announced the lovely news that he's become a father again, welcoming a baby boy into the world on Tuesday 16th January.

Ashley, who tragically lost his first born daughter when she lost her battle with Leukemia in 2021 at the age of just eight-months, took to social media to announce the news, revealing his son's special name.

He wrote: 'Aliyas Diamond Cain - 16.01.24, 4:32am, 9lbs 3oz.

'I will love you, appreciate you, guide you and protect you with all of my heart, for the rest of my life. & you will have the most beautiful guardian angel heaven holds watching over you and protecting you too.

'Welcome to the world my son. May your body be strong, your mind be wise, your heart be loving and your spirit be pure and truly powerful.' (sic)

After receiving a few negative comments regarding his name choice, with many expressing their opinion that it's too similar to Azaylia Diamond Cain, Ashley took to the comments to clear things up.

Revealing the tradition behind the name, he told fans: 'What the letter 'A' holds is a family tradition, being the first letter of my father's and all of my uncles first names.

'The name 'Diamond' is from my grandma and their mother. It's our family name along with Cain, it's our Vincentian roots, all the way from our small island and from our great people'. (sic)

Ex on the Beach star Ashley his former partner Safiyya Vorajee were given the devastating news that their daughter Azaylia had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at just eight weeks only in 2020.

Despite being given rounds of chemotherapy and undergoing a bone marrow transplant, Azaylia's tumours sadly spread to her lungs, stomach and kidneys, with the little girl tragically passing away at just eight-months-old in April 2021.

Although they've since split, Ashley and Safiyya have worked together to keep their daughter's memory alive, with the pair also taking part in a number of fundraising events to raise money for the The Azaylia Foundation.

On New Year's Day, Ashley paid a heartbreaking tribute to his late daughter, sharing a black and white video of her in a bouncer.

He wrote: 'Today marks the start of another new year without you.. Another new start still broken by your absence.. Another year further from holding you in my arms..

'I try my best to be happy, positive, uplifting and optimistic.. But some days are just not meant to be that way and today was one of those days..

'I miss you my little champ with all of my broken heart.

'𝑨𝒛𝒂𝒚𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒊𝒏 - You will forever and always be my endless love 👼🏼'. (sic)

Former footballer Ashley first announced he was going to become a dad again back in December. revealing a friend he's known since he was 18 was expecting his baby.

Speaking about the 'guilt' he felt when discovering the news, he told Good Morning Britain: “I felt slightly guilty, and I felt slightly hurt for Azaylia and I didn't really expect this to be the case.

"But very quickly like I do, I took the responsibility of being a father and I do believe that every child is a blessing."
