Anne Hathaway confirmed for The Princess Diaries 3
The director confirmed in an interview.
Director Garry Marshall has confirmed in at interview with People magazine that a sequel to a popular Princess Diaries films will go ahead.
In the interview he said he has spoken to Anne Hathaway who played the lead role of Mia Thermopolis, saying, "I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan."
Garry continued, "Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it."
No details about the film have been released, but the 81-year-old director hopes Chris Pine, who played Anne's on-screen love interest Lord Nicholas Devereaux, will return. "Chris Pine likes me, you know why? Because his father is in Mother’s Day his latest film...Chris Pine and my kids went to similar schools, so I knew him as a kid."
Garry is no stranger to the franchise having directed both the original 2001 film and its sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in 2004.
Anne, who is heavily pregnant at the moment is expecting her first child with husband Adam Shulman who she married in 2012.
