Alison Hammond hints at 'taking a year off' from TV
She's turning 50-years-old in February
It's safe to say Alison Hammond has come a long way since appearing on Big Brother way back in 2002, going on to become one of the nation's most-loved TV presenters on shows such as This Morning, The Great British Bake Off, and For The Love Of Dogs.
But as Alison prepares to turn 50-years-old on 5th February, she's hinted she could be set to take a year off from TV, admitting she'd love to travel the world.
Speaking to our friends at heat Magazine, Alison said: "In the next 10 years, I want to travel the world, I would love to take a year off and just go and travel. Not just yet, but one day. I need to see the world before I die!”
It seems 49-year-old Alison has taken inspiration from her latest show where she travels around Florida with her 19-year-old son Aidan.
Florida Unpacked, which kicked off on Monday 27th January on BBC Two, sees Alison and Aidan taking a trip around Florida on a budget, seeing if it's possible to go full-on Florida without breaking the bank.
Speaking to heat about the show, she added: "You also get to see the love between Aidan and I. With a teenager, they don't really want to spend time with their parents, so the fact that I got to spend time with him was really special. Aidan is the one person who really makes me laugh. He's a chilled out carbon copy of me. My biggest achievement is Aidan. I feel proud that I have been successful in bringing him up to be a nice human being."
Although she's set to take break in the near future, it seems Alison isn't slowing down anytime soon.
As well as Florida Unpacked airing weekly, Alison will feature on the next series of Bake Off later in the year, and she's still presenting This Morning alongside Dermot O'Leary every Friday. On top of this, she's also set to be back on our screens in the coming months with another series of For The Love Of Dogs, after she took over from the late Paul O'Grady.
It was also reported last year that Alison has landed her very own Saturday night entertainment show on the BBC, called Alison Hammond's Big Weekend.
Although there's no word on start date just yet, the brand new six-part series will see Alison spend 48 hours with some of the UK's biggest celebs, giving viewers an exclusive glimpse into their homes and lives.
Alison says of the new show: “I’m so excited to serve up some big lols and tons of OMG revelations on the BBC as I spend some quality time with some of the UK’s favourite celebrities. When I’m on a mission no secret is safe, and trust me no stone or cupboard will go unturned!”
No guests have been revealed yet either, but Alison was pictured filming something with former Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards last year, in Perrie's hometown of South Shields.
