The One Show presenter Alex Jones had an almighty scare earlier this week when it was revealed she'd been rushed to hospital after not being able to feel her unborn baby move for a while.

Alex, who announced she was expecting her second child in December, kept her fans updated throughout her scary ordeal, taking to her Instagram Story. Sharing a photo of herself waiting to be seen, the TV host wrote, 'Hadn't felt much movement from the baby for a few days so lying here being monitored. If in doubt mammas ALWAYS check! So reassuring to hear the heartbeat'. sic

However, despite the scare, Alex has now revealed all in 'fine', writing an update to fans which read, 'All was fine at the hospital. His or hers little heart beat was going like the clappers but good to check. Thanks for the messages.' sic

Alex, who is already a mum to her one-year-old son Teddy, announced her exciting baby news on an episode of The One Show in December. Whilst presenting the show with her co-host Matt Baker, Alex said, "Now I have some news! No I haven't been eating all the mince pies! There is a little baby, look! I am expecting another baby."

Alex and her husband Charlie Thompson welcomed their first child into the world back in January 2017. Giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Alex confirmed she'd decided to call him Edward Alun Burrell Thomson, Teddy for short.

After asking viewers of The One Show for name suggesting and receiving over 1,000 entries, Alex confirmed her baby boy's name by posting a photo of his birth certificate on Instagram. She wrote, 'Teddy Thomson is official. ❤️'. sic

It isn't known whether Alex and Charlie know the gender of their second child, but so far the couple continue to keep the news to themselves.

Alex and Charlie's baby is due later in 2019.
