Turns out Adele will not be performing at next year’s Super Bowl half time show.

The singer told the crowd at her L.A gig over the weekend that she’d turned down the offer to perform, saying: “I’m not doing the Super Bowl. Well I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”

Before Adele jokingly added: “Maybe next time, because I’m going to do an dance album next time.”

However NFL and sponsor Pepsi insist they did not make Adele a formal offer to perform at the event. Publishing a statement saying: “The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time.”

Adele is currently on the North American Leg of her 25 World Tour.
