Two teenagers arrested after reports of carrying imitation firearm

Police in Hull are continuing to investigate reports of two teenagers carrying replica guns.

The force were called to East Park at around 3.50pm yesterday afternoon (25 June).

A 17-year-old and 14-year-old were both arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

They have both since been released on bail.

Inspector Lucy Kevan said: “I understand reports of this nature are concerning for the local community, however I would like to offer my reassurance that upon immediate deployment, officers located two teenagers and recovered what is believed to be a replica of a gun.

“A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

“A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence."
