Man arrested in Scunthorpe charged with 22 shop thefts across the country

A 28-year-old man has been charged with 22 offences of shop theft following incidents at supermarkets across the country.

Martin Collins, of Lever Street, Rochdale, was arrested in Scunthorpe on Friday and remanded in custody to appear at Grimsby Magistrates court today.

Officers were called to a shop on Lakeside Retail Park in Scunthorpe last week following reports that a man had allegedly taken a large number of items off the shelves of the store and hidden them inside a bag.
