Man arrested following reports of kidnap in Hornsea

Police are questioning a 24-year-old man in connection with a reported kidnap in Hornsea.

They say they were called to an address in the seaside town on Thursday morning (20.03) at about 9 am.

Its reported an altercation took place inside an address on Ashcourt Drive, resulting in a 32-year-old sustaining injuries to his face and body.

It's believed the 32-year-old was forced out of his house, and walked to a shop on Cliff Road.

Officers say 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of kidnap and robbery.

The 32-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment to injuries which are thought to be serious at this time.

Detective Inspector Mark Hawley said: “I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community; however, I would like to offer my reassurance that a man remains in our custody whilst investigations continue.

“From our enquiries carried out so far, we believe this incident to be between people known to each other.

Detectives are appealing to speak to any witnesses on 101, quoting log 106 of 20th March.
