An organisation in Hull that helps people through addiction recovery are overwhelmed with the amount of support the local community have shown them since they had their building vandalised this week.

ReNew who have a building down Beverley Road had to put their service on hold yesterday (Wednesday) due to a window being smashed on Tuesday.

The team re-opened the building today and say it's now business as usual after the window has been boarded up.

Matthew Butler, volunteer, ReNew, said:

"It's been really positive to see the amount of people that have been upset by this. We had to close because when we came in on Wednesday we saw the smashed windows. It wasn't safe for people to come in because of the amount of glass especially at the front of the building.

"It's now business as usual. If you are using the service and you have appointments at Beverley Road then please attend those as normal.

A spokesperson from Humberside Police, said:

"Officers are appealing for information following reports that windows had been smashed at ReNew on Beverley Road , Hull on Tuesday 20 August.
