Hull KR coach Willie Peters refused to get carried away after his side seized top spot in the Betfred Super League with a memorable 22-4 win at Warrington.
Just a week after the Wolves had sparked title talk by hitting the summit themselves, Rovers made a compelling statement of their own with a superb all-round performance at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday.
Tries from Jesse Sue and Tyrone May gave the visitors a 10-0 lead at the interval before resilient defence kept Warrington at bay and Mikey Lewis and Peta Hiku settled the game.
Peters said: "We might only be top for the weekend. We'll enjoy that but Wigan play again (Tuesday).
"Obviously it's great to be sitting where we are but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. There's a long way to go.
"We wanted to win the game and we wanted a strong performance and that's what we delivered.
"I'm really, really proud of the players. That was a Hull KR performance and we've worked really hard to put in a performance like that.
"Defensively they stood up. Warrington threw a lot at them. We knew it was going to be tough, they've got threats everywhere, and we needed to be on it for 80 minutes. That's what I was proud of."
Wolves coach Sam Burgess admitted the hosts came up short.
Burgess said: "I thought Hull KR were brilliant. They controlled us everywhere, ran harder than us and tackled harder than us.
"We got away from our structure, trying to chase it a bit. That's because of the pressure they put on us.
"Sometimes you have to give credit to the other team but we looked a bit tired and they made us pay.
"There are loads of lessons to learn and we know our performance was nowhere near good enough for where we want to go.
"The competition is totally on. They showed us that and we have got a bit of work to do."
