Grimsby shop panic alarm triggered leading to man charged

A 39 year old man has been charged with four offences

A man has been charged after officers were alerted to a crime in progress when a personal alarm was triggered at a business premises on Second Avenue in Grimsby at around 10am yesterday morning (Monday, 24 November 2025).

James Joss, 39-years-old of no fixed abode has been charged with three counts of shop theft, assault, public order, and racially aggravated public order. He was remanded into custody to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, 25 November 2025).

It is reported a man entered a business premises on multiple occasions before attempting to steal items and allegedly threatening staff.
