More than fifty arrests now linked to Hull disorder as first sentences handed out
Humberside Police say extra officers will be on the streets this weekend

Humberside Police say they have now made 54 arrests in connection with Saturday's disorder in Hull.
So far 17 people have been charged with offences ranging from violent disorder to criminal damage to assaulting an emergency worker.
It comes as the first people to be sentenced in connection with Saturday's unrest appeared at Hull Crown Court.
Christopher Douglas, 35, of Avenues Court, Hull, was jailed for two years and eight months.
Brandon Kirkwood, 20, of Downing Grove, Hull, and Andrew Stewart, 37, of Anlaby Road, Hull, were each jailed for two-and-a-half years.
ACC Mike Walker said: “It’s been nearly a week since violent thugs attacked the streets of Hull City Centre.
“Since that day we have arrested 54 people in connection with the reports, 17 of which have been charged with offences including violent disorder, criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker.
“I am pleased to say that throughout this week we have returned to a state of normality in the city and this weekend I ask people to please come and enjoy all that Hull has to offer.
“If you are planning to watch the football, visit the shops or socialise in the city centre please do. Our teams will be there to help keep you safe.
“Whilst we have no intelligence to suggest any further disorder will take place, you will see extra police presence in Hull and across the force area throughout the weekend, both to offer reassurance but also to respond to any emerging protests and deal swiftly with any criminality.
“The crime and disorder that we saw last week was completely unacceptable and I want to be clear, we will take a robust approach to any such criminality using the substantial public order trained officers we have under our command.
“We continue to do everything in our power to bring those involved in Saturday’s disorder into custody and put suspects before the courts.
